(Romania Reborn Mission Statement, adopted September 1998)

Romania Reborn was founded to provide support for the work of God being done in broken cultures by indigenous ministries. We seek to do this by establishing a connection between those in Christ who have, and those in Christ who are needy. “Our desire is not that others might be relieved while you are hard pressed, but that there might be equality. At the present time your plenty will supply what they need, so that in turn their plenty will supply what you need. Then there will be equality, as it is written: ‘He that gathered much did not have too much, and he that gathered little did not have too little.'” (2 Corinthians 8:13-15)

Future Generations

Specifically, RR is committed to impacting future generations for Christ by supporting work among children and youth in broken cultures. This work would include, but not be limited to: evangelization, discipleship, training, meeting physical needs, meeting emotional needs, and/or working to ensure children a healthy Christian home. RR’s provision for the supported ministry would include, but not be limited to: prayer support, money, material supplies, and/or volunteers.

RR is committed to keeping our administrative budget as small as possible, in order to maximize the resources we send directly to the substantive ministries. In order to ensure spending discipline and financial accountability, we will fully report our total spending to our donors on a yearly basis.

Fewer Ministries, Greater Impact

RR’s goal is to make a significant impact through a few ministries, rather than making a marginal impact through numerous ministries. Our support is therefore concentrated and our commitment to the supported ministry extensive. RR also seeks to maximize our impact by supporting ministries which do not receive any other significant means of financial support.

Beyond supporting specific ministries, RR also takes independent measures to build the bridge between those who have and those who need. These measures include, but are not limited to: facilitating “internships” and short-term missions, as needs arise; serving as a “volunteerism clearinghouse;” and serving as a “material donations clearinghouse.” The primary vehicle for doing this is our newsletter.

Give to God, Not Romania Reborn

Above all, RR is committed to supporting the work of God, not the work of men. We prayerfully approach each potential undertaking to determine the will of God. We encourage and remind potential donors to give to God, not to RR or its supported ministry. We encourage and remind potential supported ministries to look to God, not to RR or its donors, to meet their needs. It is thus that we seek to avoid a destructive dependency, and rather to establish the proper spirit of Biblical unity.
