Lana Bode is a 23-year-old classical pianist who grew up in Hamilton, Virginia. She studied piano with Lisa Emenheiser Sarratt in Sterling before continuing her studies in college at the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music and the Royal Academy of Music in London. She received her Bachelor of Music magna cum laude in 2008.
Lana has won numerous music awards including the James A. Bland Scholarship Competition, the Loudoun Arts Council Excellence in the Arts Piano Competition, and the Northern Virginia Music Teachers Association Piano Concerto Competition. In high school, she was the orchestral keyboardist for the Loudoun Symphony Youth Orchestra and the Friday Morning Music Club Orchestra. She also performed as a soloist with the Loudoun Symphony String Workshop Orchestra.
Lana is now living in London with her Romanian husband Gabi Teodoru. She works as a freelance pianist and music teacher.
Plan Your Own Event
We have found face-to-face events a wonderfully effective way of reaching new people and expanding our ministry. If you’ve been looking for a way to get more involved with Romania Reborn, planning a local event in your community would be a tremendous blessing to “our kids.” In the past, our supporters have planned a variety of creative events to benefit our ministry, including:
- Yard sales, bake sales, and car washes. These events are great for youth groups, community groups, and the like. Just contact Romania Reborn, and we will provide you with helpful materials, such as brochures and labeled jars for donations.
- Home gatherings. Invite a few friends over for some food and drinks, and a low-key presentation on the ministry. If you live within the greater DC metro area, Romania Reborn staff would be happy to attend your home meeting. Or, we will send you our video so you can easily make the presentation yourself. Feel free to contact us if you would like help in planning your event.
- Other events. One Virginia church had its kids raise funds throughout the week of VBS, in a girls-vs-boys-style competition. A North Carolina business owner sets out labeled baby bottles at her cash register, for donations to the ministry. Whatever your idea, we’d love to help you help the kids in Romania. Contact us if you need materials or ideas.
