“Gideon” is a 10-year-old boy who lights up a room with his gentle sense of humor. He's also a child who has experienced God's healing more than once.
Gideon was born with a congenital defect affecting his digestive tract. Worse, he was abandoned at birth and spent his first few years in a state institution. Without a family, he couldn't get the corrective surgery he needed.
Thankfully, we found him a wonderful Christian adoptive family, and he got the surgery he needed. But just this year, he had another brush with serious illness, requiring surgery. In God's mercy, he came through healthy and well.
Families are essential to every child's healing—whether it's physical, emotional, or spiritual. Thank you for helping kids heal by giving their parents the resources they need.

A family placement is just the beginning of a child's healing journey. We work with parents to help children recover from the trauma of abandonment, neglect, abuse, and institutionalization. We also provide resources for special medical needs, and we connect parents with networks to equip and encourage.
